Mabuhay!
I’m Tina, a Filipino American therapist based in Texas. My work is rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and the belief that healing happens through connection and understanding.I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M Central Texas. My professional path has been shaped by both education and lived experience, guiding the way I support others in their journeys toward healing and growth. My StoryMy path into counseling began long before I became a therapist. Fifteen years ago, my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and I stepped into the role of her caregiver. Through that experience, I witnessed both profound grief and deep transformation. What once felt like the darkest season of my life became the beginning of a deeper understanding of compassion, resilience, and purpose.Years later, during a time when I felt lost and searching, I felt called back to what my heart had learned during that difficult chapter: the importance of connection, empathy, and healing. That calling became Sunny Day Therapy, a practice grounded in hope, cultural understanding, and emotional renewal.

I believe therapy can be a powerful catalyst for change. When we take time to understand our stories with honesty and compassion, we begin to develop healthier patterns, deeper self awareness, and stronger emotional resilience.Healing does not mean the absence of storms. It means learning how to move through them with support, understanding, and the confidence that brighter days are possible.
My work integrates several evidence based and relational approaches, including:• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Trauma Informed Therapy
• Narrative Therapy
• Mindfulness Based Techniques
• Strengths Based and Person Centered CounselingEach therapy experience is tailored to the individual, honoring personal history, cultural identity, and the unique strengths each client brings into the healing process.
Clinical ExperienceTina has experience working with individuals, families, and adolescents in community based mental health settings supporting emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and relational healing.
